Today it's a bike, tomorrow it will be a car. At least it seems that way. It's all going by way too fast. It seems just like yesterday that Izzy came home and here we are two and half years later. Mari has been with us already 4 months. It's hard to believe. Maybe it's my age, but it surely feels like time is moving by faster than before. My baby boy is going to be 20 in two weeks. Yes, it's true. I have an "almost" 20 year old. How did that happen?

So many "firsts"

The last few weeks have been really amazing. We've had so many "firsts" with Mari. Her first birthday with us was so sweet. It was overwhelming for her. I could tell. She just embraces life to the fullest but even with that wonderful spirit it was still pretty obvious to me that it was a lot for her to take in at one time. She was amazed by all the gifts. It didn't take long for her to realize that this was all for her. She is very appreciative of everything. She loved her cake..... maybe too much : )

She is fascinated by Christmas lights. Anytime that we are driving at night she yells out, loudly..... look Mommy, lights!!! Scares the heck out of me. Each time she sees them it's like a new discovery. Christmas is so interesting to her. She's always asking questions about it. They are counting down the days. She and Izzy decorated for Jesus birthday party on Saturday. She's so excited about baking a cake for Him. Such a very sweet time for our family. These "firsts" go by so quickly. I'm trying to soak it all in. I'm taking lots of pictures. Just cherishing the moments.

Izzy is even appreciating these cute little first times with Mari. She giggles at her sister a lot... then tries to explain it all to her. Mari still wants to take the stockings down from the fireplace even though Izzy has explained to her a bunch that we need to leave them there till Christmas morning. Gosh, I love this age. Don't I wish they could stay just like this.

We went to a boat parade at my aunt's house on Saturday night. I love this picture of Marianna. This is how I think of her. She is always smiling. Always excited about what she is doing. Always embracing life. What a sweet little inspiration. I forgot to tell you guys that she finished out-patient physical therapy.... the same day she started. We went and within an hour she met all her goals.  She climbed the ladders, navigated curbs, ramps, jumps, uneven surfaces etc etc.... I could only smile at the physical therapists. What can I say. She's something !!

I can't wait to see these munchkins on Christmas morning.  God is so good to me. I'm a blessed Momma : )

Meeting the man in the red suit.... for the first time : )

My mom's office has a Christmas party each year. Santa comes and brings gifts for the kiddos. It's always lots of fun. This was Mari's first time ever meeting Santa..... she was a little skeptical about it all. She knows that it was a man in a red suit. She kept saying that over and over. "It's just a man in the red suit, right?" Over and over. I guess trying to reassure herself that it wasn't a big deal. Then she saw Mrs. Claus and clung to my mom. Izzy who has met him every year for the past two years was afraid and hiding in her Daddy's lap. Go figure...... You never really know how they're going to react.

"Mommy, you didn't mention a lady in a red suit"

"I'm not so sure about this Maw Maw and Nini"

"Presents.... you don't say"

"Anyone that brings you Littlest Pet Shops is not so bad"

Izzy.... finally came around. She wasn't going to let little sissy get a gift and not her. No way !
